ABOUT US

3 Horn Quartet came together out of a mutual love of music and laughter—and the desire to think outside of the box. Hailing from diverse traditions including orchestral, jazz, rock and punk, these 4 musicians joined forces to put their own spin on the chamber ensemble. They describe what they do as defiant chamber music.

Originally inspired by groups such as Genghis Barbie, Moon Hooch, and The Westerlies, 3HQ has taken the road less traveled, writing original compositions that draw from a wide range of genres and often employing guitar/bass pedals to accentuate the experience. An upbeat and versatile group, 3HQ is at home on most any stage: from an evening in the park to the concert hall to the club.

Katie Green // Trumpet

Katie started playing her uncle’s hand-me-down trumpet in 5th grade in Bothell, WA. In her day job, she’s the Director of Global Quality Control Testing for cancer therapeutics — where she closely abides by regulations from agencies worldwide. Music has always been her outlet to stay balanced and in the zone — a chance to exercise the other side of her brain!

Katie has played public and private gigs with artists such as Melissa Etheridge, Flowmotion, Grace Love, The Together Collective, and The Panda Conspiracy.

Katie is the mom of a 13-year-old human, and 2 dogs.

Jaime Faucher // French Horn

Jaime is a native of Bothell, Washington. She received her undergraduate degree in horn performance from the University of Arizona and a Master's in Horn Performance from the Boston Conservatory where she studied with David O'Hanian (Canadian Brass). She is currently principal horn with the Rainier Symphony and Octava Chamber Orchestra, a member of Lake Union Civic Orchestra, and enjoys opportunities playing with other groups in the area including Orchestra Seattle, Seattle Philharmonic, and Northwest Symphony Orchestra.

By day Jaime works as a Licensed Hearing Aid Specialist and is the mom of 2 grown “kids” and 2 dogs.

Liana Green // Tuba & Sousaphone

Liana is a multi-instrumentalist and educator who hails from Edmonds, WA. She spent a significant portion of her musical life in the trumpet section (M.M., New England Conservatory, ‘03), but now spends most of her time in bass clef territory, playing tuba, bass, and trombone. When she’s not on stage with 3HQ, you can find her playing bass with the Panda Conspiracy.

Liana’s day jobs include maintaining a private teaching studio, writing curriculum with a Black, queer lens, and being a mom to 2 dogs and a 13-year-old human.

See her personal website at lianaegreen.com.

Reba Hernandez // Drums (& Accordion!)

Reba Hernandez has been playing drums in punk and pop bands since the late 90's. Her current roster includes Tales from the Birdbath (a duo with her husband Ean); the Haps (in which she plays bass in a 3 piece rock band) and of course the 3 Horn Quartet. Reba also plays bass, accordion and piano but not quite as well as her main squeeze, the drum kit.

Reba's day job is in biotech project management and mom-ing to two girls.
